Town Hall Meetings Scheduled for Improve Our Tulsa Renewal

Five citywide town hall meetings have been scheduled for presentations, citizens’ questions and comments about the Improve Our Tulsa renewal, scheduled for a vote on Nov. 12. “Improve Our Tulsa is our basic streets and infrastructure program, and because of voter support for it in 2013 we’ve made critical progress in rehabilitating our roads after decades of neglect - but there is much more work to do,” Mayor G.T. Bynum said.

Fire Prevention Week October 8-12;

Join Tulsa Fire this week as they recognize Fire Prevention Week. Firefighters will be visiting local schools to talk with kids about the importance of fire safety and host a poster contest for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Winners will win a ride to school in a fire truck. On Thursday, five stations will be hosting open houses for residents.

Coalition for Tulsa Pets Free Vaccination Clinic Rescheduled for Jan. 12

The free pet vaccination clinic that had been scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 8, has been rescheduled for Jan. 12, 2019, at Hicks Park, 3443 S. Mingo Rd. Free vaccinations will be available for dogs and cats from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., or while supplies last.

Crow Creek Bridge Project Complete; Road Open to Traffic

Construction of a new bridge over Crow Creek at 3200 S. Peoria Ave. is complete and the road has reopened to traffic. Mayor G.T. Bynum and District 9 City Councilor Jayme Fowler celebrated the bridge opening at a news conference Monday morning.

Michael Baker, former Chief of Emergency Medical Services for the Tulsa Fire Department, was chosen Monday to serve as Tulsa’s 12th Fire Chief. He will take his post effective Tuesday, June 16.
