The levee system continues to be the primary focus for emergency personnel as the levee system is oversaturated with water and has been holding historic levels of water for more than a week. The levee system continues to be monitored 24/7. Residents living behind the levees and evacuees from behind the levees need to remain vigilant.

Tulsa’s water won the Oklahoma Water Taste Contest last week in Norman at the annual conference of the Oklahoma Water Environment Association/American Public Works Association. This win allows Tulsa’s water to advance to the next contest at the Southwest American Water Works Association conference in Lafayette, La., in October. The City continues to operate under CDC, Tulsa Health Department (THD) and Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) guidelines. To date, there have been five confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in Tulsa County. Today, THD officials announced the first COVID-19 associated death in Tulsa County, which is also the first death in the state of Oklahoma. The investigation remains ongoing; however, this is the first confirmed instance of community spread in Tulsa County.
