Street, Lane Closures Needed During Repair of Leaking 24-Inch Waterline at East 15th Street, South Yale Avenue

Water Distribution personnel are fixing a leaking 24-inch waterline that is causing ice hazards on the road at East 15^th Street and South Yale Avenue. During this repair beginning today, East 15^th Street will be completely closed at South Yale Avenue, and Yale Avenue will be limited to one lane in each direction at 15^th Street.

Eastbound traffic on 15^th Street will be detoured either north or south on Yale Avenue. Westbound traffic on 15^th Street will be detoured north on Allegheny Avenue, and then west on East 14^th Street to Yale Avenue.

The waterline repair is expected to be completed by midday on Friday, Dec. 20. Water will be off in this area from late Thursday night (Dec. 19) until midday Friday.

Immediately after the waterline is repaired, a contractor will begin repairing the intersection. Lanes are estimated to be reopened by Tuesday, Dec. 24.
