Road Rehabilitation on East 31st Street from South Yale Avenue to South Sheridan Avenue to Begin Monday

8/24/2026

A road rehabilitation and stormwater installation project on East 31st Street from South Yale Avenue to South Sheridan Avenue is scheduled to begin next week. In anticipation of the project starting soon, crews started mobilizing their equipment earlier this week.

The project consists of milling, which is removing the old surface of the road, patching where needed under the surface, and then repaving the road with new asphalt. New stormwater structures will also be installed as part of the project.

The road rehabilitation project will be completed in two phases. During the first phase, eastbound lanes will be closed, and westbound lanes will be converted to two-way traffic. Once the first phase is complete, traffic will shift to the second phase, with westbound lanes closed and eastbound lanes converted to two-way traffic.

During construction, drivers are encouraged to slow down and follow all posted traffic signs.

The City of Tulsa has contracted with Becco Contractors for this $2,067,000 Improve Our Tulsa project. Construction is scheduled for completion by spring of next year, weather permitting.

Area neighbors have already been notified, and a public meeting was held to discuss project specifics earlier this month at the Legacy Plaza East Tower.
