The Tulsa Fire Department spends a great deal of time teaching children how to prevent and react in the event of an emergency. A list of the programs for children is provided below.
The Safety Trailer is a mobile learning facility used to teach children proper fire prevention and reaction behaviors. Our target audience is second grade. Interested groups must be within the Tulsa city limits. Education topics include: Burn injury prevention and reaction, Stop, Drop, and Roll, Smoke Detectors, Escape Planning and the use of 911. The Youth Fire-Setters Intervention Program is designed to assess and educate children between the ages of 3 and 17 years old. If you know of any child or teen that has shown tendencies to play with lighters or matches, or that has set an intentional fire, please refer them to this program.
