Larger Than Life Iron Man to be on Display at Tulsa City Hall

On Tuesday, October, 23 the iconic Iron Man upgrade, standing at 12 feet high and nearly 400 pounds, will stand in front of City Hall from approximately 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.. Fans will be able to take photos with the Hulkbuster and other comic heroes, learn about the November expo, and have a chance to win free giveaways.

On the afternoon of Tues., May 5, IC Bus of Oklahoma and their parent company Navistar launched a false campaign and subsequently issued a formal press release from Navistar’s corporate headquarters, claiming that the City of Tulsa has threatened to evict IC Bus from their facility – a false statement.

Mayor Cancelling City Led and Permitted Gatherings of 50 People or More

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 before it occurs within the Tulsa community, Mayor Bynum is directing the postponement or cancellation of all gatherings of 50 people or more at City of Tulsa properties and facilities, as well as Special Events permitted by the City beginning at 5 p.m. today. The ban will be in place until April 15, when it will be reevaluated. For clarification, this direction does not include school or county led events as they do not fall under the purview of the City of Tulsa. City locations that are included are: BOK Center, City Hall and City facilities, City Parks and Recreation Centers, Convention Center, Gilcrease Museum, Performing Arts Center, Stormwater Detention areas, River Parks and the Tulsa Zoo. Special events that were permitted by the City, which close streets and right of ways are also included.

Household Pollutant Disposal Special Event Scheduled for March 30

Start spring cleaning by ridding your home of chemicals and potentially hazardous items. A Household Pollutant Disposal Special Event is scheduled for Saturday, March 30, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the City of Tulsa’s Household Pollutant Collection Facility, 4502 S. Galveston Ave. In addition to the usually accepted items, special items accepted only at this event are tires, e-waste (television - $21 fee; monitor - $10 fee), medications and ammunition. No appointment is necessary for the special event.

The 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Graves Investigation will continue next week in the city of Tulsa. Three sites were originally identified for initial scanning based on data and historian reports from the 2001 State Commissioned Report of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.

City to Receive Planning Grant to Implement Free Financial Counseling Service for Tulsans

Tulsa has been selected to receive a $20,000 planning grant from the national Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund (CFE Fund) to implement proven financial empowerment programming. Goodwill Industries of Tulsa will partner with the City of Tulsa to offer this free, professional, one-on-one financial counseling as a public service through the creation of a Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) which will be scheduled to open in late 2020.
