Public Oversight Meeting for 1921 Mass Graves Investigation Rescheduled for June 27

Mayor G. T. Bynum and the Mass Graves Investigation Public Oversight Committee will hold its first public meeting on Thursday, June 27, 5:30 p.m. at the 36th Street Event Center, 1125 E. 36th St. N., to discuss plans to begin the investigative process into the potential mass graves search from the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. The first meeting was originally scheduled in May but had to be rescheduled due to severe weather in Tulsa.

Tulsa Begins Phasing in New ‘Flashing Yellow Arrow’ Traffic Signals at Selected Intersections

Tulsa Curbside Recycling Update – March 14

Since the return of curbside recycling January 31, the City of Tulsa has noticed a higher-than-average number of contaminated recycling carts. Most contamination has been seen in the form of plastic bags, Styrofoam, and other non-recyclable materials. Contaminated carts are not picked up and are identified with a yellow or white tag.

1921 Graves Scanning Complete at Newblock and Oaklawn Sites

The State of Oklahoma Archaeological Survey (OAS) based at the University of Oklahoma, has completed the geophysical and scanning work at two of the three sites that were originally identified for initial scanning based on data and historian reports from the 2001 State Commissioned Report of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.

The City is Prepared for Winter Weather

When winter weather strikes, we're ready. We have 12,500 tons of salt, 170 employees, 66 truck-mounted salt spreaders, 45 truck-mounted snow plows, four trick-mounted Liquid Applicator Systems, seven 4x4 pick-ups equipped with snow plows, three motor graders for use as plows, and two salt brine mixing systems - all to treat 35 snow routes covering 1,770 lane miles.
