A WNBA basketball goal used by the Tulsa Shock, the former marquee from the BOK Center, and distinctive coin collections will be among the many items up for bids at the next City of Tulsa Surplus Property Auction. The auction will be held Saturday, April 27, at the City of Tulsa surplus property facility, 108 N. Trenton Ave., beginning at 9:30 a.m.
City offices will be closed on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Thursday and Friday refuse customers will see a shift in their service. In partnership with Tulsa Economic Development Corporation (TEDC), the City of Tulsa is dedicating $1.1 million in funds for zero interest loans to provide financial assistance to small business owners and entrepreneurs affected by COVID-19.
Due to the COVID-19 threat, the test excavation will be postponed until it is safe to continue. Travel restrictions and shelter in place orders have been instituted across the country and the City received guidance provided by the University of Oklahoma, the team leading the research, to postpone the test excavation. Once it is safe to continue, the City will provide an update once a new date is scheduled.

On Wed. evening, Tulsa City Council approved eight proposed projects part of Phase 1 of the Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF) programming to help Tulsans impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. City staff presented the projects, totaling more than $2 million. They aim at addressing the public health emergency through community-driven programs.
With the potential for dangerous winter weather and extreme cold temperatures heading into the weekend and early next week, the City is preparing now to get its equipment ready for a snow event. Crews will continue to operate on a 24-hour winter weather response until the threat of winter weather subsides.
