City of Tulsa street crews have been working tirelessly throughout the night to treat the roads with a salt and brine system. The arterial streets are currently passable, and the crews plan to continue working through Monday. As a driver, it is important to slow down and keep a safe distance between your vehicle and others on the road. Please drive according to the road conditions.
The crews are responsible for 36 specific routes covering approximately 1,770 lane miles, which is equivalent to driving from Tulsa to San Francisco. If you need more information on the City's snow and ice response, as well as every map and route the City uses for arterial streets, collector streets, schools, and steep hills, please visit this link: www.cityoftulsa.org/winterpreparedness
All customer-facing city facilities will be open to the public at noon today.
City of Tulsa Municipal Court Jurors are excused today, and anyone scheduled for a court appearance should appear at noon on Monday, Jan. 22, or call Municipal Courts to reschedule at (918) 596-1625.
Trash & Recycling
Due to the slick conditions, haulers had to postpone refuse collection on Monday. They will resume collecting trash on Tuesday. We kindly ask for your patience and request that you leave your cart at the curb for collection. For those who have backyard service, please make sure that the haulers can access your gate. They will make every effort to collect everything by the end of the day on Friday but will work on Saturday if needed.
There will be no recycling collections this week due to a planned outage for the recycling plant on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Please place any extra recycling in a recyclable container next to your recycling cart for collection next week.
Bulky waste collections are on a delayed schedule, but the collections crews will make every effort to collect your items in a timely manner. Please be patient, and they will try to catch up throughout the week as the weather improves.

Waterline Breaks
The City continues to respond to waterline breaks from this week’s extreme cold, with crews working around the clock to make repairs.
If you see a waterline break on a City street or in a right-of-way, call (918) 596-9488. Before calling, the best way to check to see whether the break has already been reported is through the City's waterline break dashboard, which can be found online at www.cityoftulsa.org/breakboard.
AMR/True Reads Update
This morning, the City's True Reads program initiated the installation of some meters. However, due to the hard ground, the contractors are experiencing some delays in their work progress. They anticipate that their work today will be slow. Nonetheless, they expect to have no such issues tomorrow and can proceed with a full day's work. The program's primary goal is to replace 145,000 residential water meters with new automated ones. Furthermore, the program involves a thorough examination of the material used for the service line.
Tulsa Animal Welfare
Tulsa Animal Welfare will be closed for general adoptions on Monday, Jan. 22, due to inclement weather. However, clients who had scheduled surgeries for their animals can pick them up after 4 p.m. today. We request all clients to make the necessary arrangements to pick up their animals as close to 4 p.m. as possible.
Tulsa Parks
Tulsa Parks facilities are scheduled to reopen by noon. The park crews have been actively treating sidewalks and some parking areas at community centers. However, it is advised to be extremely cautious while walking in parking lots and on sidewalks, as there might still be slick spots due to recent freezing rain and cold temperatures.
Although Woodward Park is open, park officials request visitors to avoid the area until the ice thaws as the roads and sidewalks throughout the park remain untreated.
