Welcoming Week Kicks Off Saturday with Welcoming Week Festival; Vamos Tulsa Night at ONEOK Field to Follow

YWCA and the City of Tulsa will kick off Tulsa’s Welcoming Week 2023 activities by hosting a free outdoor festival on Saturday, September 9, from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. at the YWCA Tulsa East Community Center, 8145 E. 17th St.

Featured attractions will include kids activities, bounce houses, a slip and slide, an obstacle course, and face painting for children. Participants can enjoy food from food trucks with a variety of specialty dishes representing our diverse immigrant community in Tulsa. Other activities include Chinlone demonstrations (the National sport of Burma), Soccer demonstrations and drum circle.

Attendees can visit information booths from local organizations supporting the immigrant and refugee community. Tulsa Public Library will have story time, and La Cosecha will provide free produce and grocery to the families that attend the event.

Volunteers will welcome guests and families in 11 languages. Presenting sponsors are AAON, Bank of Oklahoma, and George Kaiser Family Foundation.

Vamos Tulsa Night 2023
In the evening, Tulsans are invited to head over to ONEOK Field for Vamos Tulsa Night 2023 to celebrate the vibrant Latino culture of Tulsa. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to experience authentic Latino food and music while also shopping from local Latino vendors.

During the game, FC Tulsa will play Phoenix Rising FC at 7:30 p.m.
