Free virtual workshop to help Route 66 businesses to leverage local, state and federal Route 66-specific grants and funds
The Tulsa Route 66 Commission is hosting a free workshop for businesses and individuals interested in learning more about Route 66-specific grants available in Tulsa and nationwide.
The workshop will be held Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. via Zoom. A recording of the workshop will be emailed to all attendees. For those who do not have access to a computer, the workshop will be live-streamed in person in Theater No. 3 at Circle Cinema, 10 S. Lewis Ave. Tulsa Route 66 Commission Chair Samantha Extance said, “a special thank you to Circle Cinema for helping us to make this free workshop accessible to all.”

Topics covered at the workshop will include local, state, and national Route 66-specific grant programs and funds. The workshop is most useful for Tulsa residents, as there are several programs that are only available in Tulsa, but anyone who is interested may attend.
Workshop panelists will include Kaisa Barthuli of the National Parks Service, Michelle Barnett with PartnerTulsa, Bill Thomas with the Road Ahead Partnership and the federal Route 66 Centennial Commission, Rhys Martin with the Oklahoma Route 66 Association & Tulsa Route 66 Commission, and Samantha Extance with Tulsa Route 66 Commission and Tulsa Planning Office.
The workshop will review the grants and funds listed below as well as touch on other grant opportunities on the horizon for Route 66:

ABOUT THE TULSA ROUTE 66 COMMISSION: The Commission will support and assist all ongoing efforts locally and statewide with both public and private entities involved in Route 66 matters. Members will also create and help implement specific strategies and plans to encourage economic development and promotion for Route 66.
