Tulsa Parks’ School Support Camps program is being highlighted during Leadership Tulsa’s “Good News Summit” this week.

Today, Tulsa Parks officials discussed how the Parks department met the community’s need for childcare by creating their school support camps.

Throughout the Fall semester, the program hosted between 70 and 80 students daily at five community centers throughout the city.

Several students are still attending the support camps daily at Lacy and Whiteside Parks.

All the centers continue to offer “Virtual Wednesdays,” when Tulsa Public Schools are closed to in-person learning.

Leadership Tulsa’s “Good News Summit” is an annual event that showcases good news from Tulsa organizations. This year the focus was on Tulsa organizations who found ways to adapt and achieve during the pandemic.
