The Tulsa Parks Team has been working for more than six months on updating and developing a 10-year master plan to see where our parks can grow, how officials can expand park programs, and ways to better serve the community.

When completed, the master plan will create a blueprint for where Tulsa Parks can improve, how to grow responsibly, and what programs and recreational activities our community needs.

Tulsa residents will hear the results from the master plan surveys, data collection from facility and park inventories and other project analysis in a public forum on Thursday, May 6 at 6 p.m.

“Tulsa Park's goal is to have a successful master planning process that will transform the community’s vision into outstanding programming, well-maintained facilities, and a customer-focused and responsive park system,” Anna America, Chief of Culture and Parks and Recreation said.

GreenPlay, LLC is leading the master plan project, with survey and data work done by RRC Associates. In February, 40,000 households in the City of Tulsa received a mailed postcard and survey. Responses from these residents helped comprise a statistically valid sample. An open-link survey allowed other Tulsa residents to provide feedback. The researchers also included those responses in the final analysis. While the open-link survey results were kept separate from the statistically valid answers, these responses also provided valuable feedback for the City of Tulsa.

Attendees must register for the webinar here: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_fizlLIwCTuu5a_Q6SeYwAw, or watch the public forum on the Tulsa Park’s Facebook page.

The presentation will also be published on the Tulsa Parks website after the public meeting on Thursday, May 6. GreenPlay, LLC will present their findings to the Tulsa Parks Board today, May 4, and to the Tulsa City Council on Wednesday, May 5.
