Starting today, Tulsa Animal Welfare (TAW) will not be taking any more walk-in visitations during the COVID-19 threat. Instead, adoptions are now by appointment only and can be scheduled by calling (918) 596-8001.
For intakes, residents are asked to call TAW’s Pet Diversion Specialist at (918) 596-7387 to schedule an appointment before showing up. If an animal is found that is injured or in medical distress, residents may bring it to TAW immediately.
When bringing animals to TAW, residents should use the north driveway and stay in their vehicles until staff comes out to assist.
Additionally, TAW is asking residents to not pick up strays unless they are willing to shelter in place, while housing, caring for and feeding the animal.
Animal control services will continue with high priority. Emergency calls, including law enforcement assistance, assisting Tulsa Fire or EMS, injured or sick stray animals, cruelty and neglect complaints, bite complaints and dangerous and aggressive dog complaints are all still being worked.
Response to non-emergency calls and activities including non-aggressive animal complaints, leash law complaints, and nuisance complaints will be limited.
