Tulsa Animal Welfare Launches “$20 for TAW” Building Campaign

Tulsa Animal Welfare (TAW) has launched its "$20 for TAW” campaign in hopes of raising an additional $3.7 million for its new shelter.
The campaign, which is a partnership with the Tulsa Community Foundation (TCF), will use all monies raised to enhance the new shelter’s amenities and support pet education and outreach programs.
“We are happy Tulsans have funded a new shelter that will better house and care for each pet's physical needs," said Sherri Carrier, Tulsa Animal Welfare Manager. "As we look at what additional things could enhance the experiences at the new shelter, there are other amenities outside of what was originally funded that we hope we can meet with this campaign."
Additional monies raised will support the following projects:
The new Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter is funded by $13.8 million from the City of Tulsa and will house more than 325 animals. The new shelter design is at 95% completion. A groundbreaking date has not been set, yet, but is expected to be announced soon.
The $20 in the campaign name is representative of what a standard donation could look like, but donations can be made in any amount via credit card online. Donations of $100 or more can be made in memory of a pet. When making a donation on the TCF page, please indicate the name of your pet in the comment section on the donation page.
Donors may also make checks payable to TCF with memo f/b/o Tulsa Animal Welfare Fund and mail or hand-deliver them to TCF at 7030 S. Yale Ave., Suite 600, Tulsa, OK, 74136.
