Vaccine Clinic Exclusively Available for Tulsans Living in Zip Codes 74110, 74104, and 74112
In light of a confirmed rabies case near E. Admiral Blvd. and N. Harvard Ave. that was announced two weeks ago, Tulsa Animal Services (TAS), in collaboration with Tulsa SPCA, is hosting a free rabies and distemper/parvovirus combination (DAPPV) vaccination clinic for Tulsa dog owners.
This clinic aims to protect pets and the Tulsa community and is scheduled for Tuesday, March 11, from 9 a.m. to noon at Turner Park, 3503 E. 5th Pl., Tulsa, OK.
Dog owners must live in the designated zip codes 74110, 74104, and 74112 to receive the vaccinations.
Individuals attending the clinic should bring a utility bill or driver's license displaying their current address for verification.
At this time, the vaccine clinic is exclusively for dogs.
Treating & Preventing Rabies
Rabies is a severe disease that can be transmitted through the saliva of an infected animal. To minimize the risk, Tulsa Animal Services advises pet owners to keep vaccinations current for all pets aged four months and older, supervise pets outdoors and keep them confined to property or on a leash, and avoid feeding pets outdoors to decrease the likelihood of attracting wildlife.
