Officials started the process today of testing the flume at Zink Lake, a 1,000-foot whitewater area for recreational enthusiasts located at Zink Lake.

Zink Lake is a 2.5-mile recreational attraction located next to Gathering Place, which will open on Labor Day Weekend 2024 alongside Tulsa’s new pedestrian bridge, Williams Crossing.

The 1,000-foot whitewater flume is being tested at different water release rates as work continues to fine-tune the flume’s wave shapers.

Last week, the City started the process of filling the new Zink Lake for the first time. Flume testing is another step of the testing process, and over the course of the next few months, Tulsans will see varying lake levels as the dam is exercised during this testing phase.

As this process continues over the next few days and months, Tulsans may notice water starting to flow through each of the flume’s pools. Please note, Zink Lake and the whitewater flume remain closed until they open Labor Day Weekend 2024.
