Street Widening Project to Begin Next Week at Intersection of East 101st Street, South Yale Avenue
A street widening project at the intersection of East 101st Street and South Yale Avenue, and on South Yale Avenue between East 101st Street and East 96th Street (near Creek Turnpike) is scheduled to begin during the week of April 6. Work will begin at the intersection of 101st Street and Yale Avenue, and then move north on Yale Avenue from 101st Street to 96th Street.
One lane of traffic in each direction will be open during this project, both at the intersection and on Yale Avenue between 101st Street and 96th Street.
Access to all businesses will remain open during this project, and blue Business Access signs will direct customers to these businesses. City street projects show how sales taxes and property taxes are funding road improvements. Tulsans are encouraged not to avoid construction areas, but to support the area businesses throughout the construction project.
This project consists of pavement reconstruction, Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps, stormwater drainage improvements, waterline replacement and traffic signal replacement.
The City of Tulsa has contracted with Becco Contractors Inc. for this $8,752,795 project, funded by the Improve Our Tulsa sales tax. Completion of the project is scheduled for late fall 2021.
