A street rehabilitation project is beginning this week on South Memorial Drive between East 31st Street and East 11th Street. The first work area is between East 28th Street and East 21st Street, where traffic is limited to one northbound lane and one southbound lane. Access to all businesses will be maintained throughout the project.
This project includes waterline replacement, concrete paving, median replacement, sidewalks on both sides of the street, and complete reconstruction of the intersection of Memorial Drive and East 21st Street.
Construction is scheduled to progress to the north, with work on the Memorial Drive and 21st Street intersection to begin in approximately seven months. After the intersection, work will begin on the last segment of Memorial, between 21st and 11th Streets.
The City of Tulsa has contracted with Grade Line Construction for this $10,801,359 project, funded through the 2014 Improve Our Tulsa sales tax. Completion of the project is scheduled for August 2021.
