Street Rehabilitation on Gilcrease Museum Road Between West Admiral Boulevard, West Pine Street to Begin November 3; Project to Affect Traffic

10/31/2025

A street rehabilitation project on Gilcrease Museum Road between West Admiral Boulevard and West Pine Street is expected to begin on Monday, November 3.

This project consists of milling- removing the old surface of the road, patching where needed under the surface, and then repaving the road with new asphalt. Additional infrastructure improvements will also occur, such as upgrading sidewalks and curbs and installing new stormwater drainage systems. Work is expected to last about one year.

During this project, construction will take place in phases to minimize disruptions.

The first phase will close Gilcrease Museum Road from West Edison Street to West Pine Street for 150 days. Once repairs in that section are complete, the project will move into the second phase, which will reopen part of the roadway between West Edison Street and West Independence Place. During that time, work will continue from West Independence Place to West Pine Street.

The City of Tulsa has contracted with Becco Contractors for this $25 million project funded through the Improve Our Tulsa 2 sales tax extension. Construction is scheduled for completion in late 2026.

Drivers are encouraged to follow set detour routes and plan to allow for extra time.
