A street reconstruction project on North Garnett Road between East 36th Street North and East Pine Street will begin Monday, April 18. The project will be completed one mile at a time, starting at the north end between 36th Street North and Apache Street.

During construction, Garnett Road will be completely closed in the location of current work. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained.

The first road closure will be 3,000 feet between 36th Street North and just south of Tulsa Raceway Park. The road closure will last approximately five months. Access to Tulsa Raceway Park will be maintained from 129th East Avenue.

The project includes replacing the asphalt surface with concrete, widening the shoulders, installing six large drainage structures and changing the grade of the road up to 5 feet in some places.

Completion of the project is scheduled for August 2017. Each mile of the project will take eight months to complete.

The City of Tulsa has contracted with APAC Central Inc. for this $5,436,488 project funded by the 2008 Third Penny Sales Tax (Fix Our Streets).
