After last week’s street patching on South Yale Avenue between East 41st Street and East 42nd Street, a microsurfacing project will follow on Aug. 2-3, on South Yale between 41st and 46th streets. Lane closures will occur as needed. Microsurfacing is adding a top ½-inch of asphalt to the surface of the road.
Also beginning on Thursday, Aug. 2, will be a mill and overlay project on East 21st Street between South Sheridan Road and South Memorial Drive. Milling is removing the top layer of pavement, and an overlay is repaving the road with a new layer of asphalt.
During the mill and overlay project, traffic on 21st Street will be limited to one lane in each direction between Sheridan and Memorial. Access to all businesses will be maintained. This project is scheduled for completion by Aug. 15.
