Street Maintenance to Begin Aug. 2 at South Yale Avenue and East 41st Street; also East 21st Street, Sheridan to Memorial

After last week’s street patching on South Yale Avenue between East 41^st Street and East 42^nd Street, a microsurfacing project will follow on Aug. 2-3, on South Yale between 41^st and 46^th streets. Lane closures will occur as needed. Microsurfacing is adding a top ½-inch of asphalt to the surface of the road.

Also beginning on Thursday, Aug. 2, will be a mill and overlay project on East 21^st Street between South Sheridan Road and South Memorial Drive. Milling is removing the top layer of pavement, and an overlay is repaving the road with a new layer of asphalt.

During the mill and overlay project, traffic on 21^st Street will be limited to one lane in each direction between Sheridan and Memorial. Access to all businesses will be maintained. This project is scheduled for completion by Aug. 15.
