Sidewalk Improvement Project on East 31st Street between South Lewis Avenue, South Birmingham Avenue to Begin Jan. 14

A sidewalk improvement project on East 31^st Street between South Lewis Avenue and South Birmingham Avenue will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 14. The eastbound curb lane on 31^st Street will be closed during the daytime and will reopen at the end of each work day. Traffic access will be open at each intersection – Lewis Place, Atlanta Avenue, and Birmingham Avenue.

This project includes sidewalk and driveway replacement, installation of poles for pedestrian crossing signals, and installation of Americans with Disabilities Act ramps at the intersections of 31^st Street with Lewis Avenue, Lewis Place, Atlanta Avenue, and Birmingham Avenue.

Completion time for this project is estimated for three months.
