A street reconstruction project on West Fifth Street between South Denver Avenue and South Boulder Avenue is scheduled to begin during the week of Nov. 27. The project will be completed one block at a time: Denver Avenue to Cheyenne Avenue, and Cheyenne Avenue to Boulder Avenue.
During construction on each block, the road will be closed to all traffic. Business access will be maintained throughout the project. Work will begin between Denver and Cheyenne avenues, with construction on this block scheduled for completion at the end of January 2018. At the end of January, work will move to the block between Cheyenne and Boulder avenues, with completion scheduled for the end of March 2018. With a winter timeframe, this project is weather-dependent.
This project consists of new concrete pavement, waterline and storm sewer replacement, extra-wide sidewalks with brick pavers and stamped concrete, landscaping, pedestrian lighting, new traffic signals and conversion from one-way to two-way traffic.
The City of Tulsa has contracted with Tri-Star Construction for this $1,735,180 project funded by the 2014 General Obligation Bond Issue (Improve Our Tulsa).
