Tulsans are invited to a public meeting to learn about and comment on the new draft Master Plan for McCullough Park on Saturday, March 7, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Disney Elementary School, 11702 E. 25th St. McCullough Park is located nearby at 11534 E. 25th St.
The new Master Plan is part of $3.5 million in improvements for McCullough Park approved by voters in 2016 as a Vision Tulsa sales tax project. The plan has been developed using feedback gathered at a community meeting last December and through a citizen survey still in progress. A steering committee of community members also is guiding this project.
Possible plans for the 11-acre McCullough Park include a bike park, splashpad, multi-purpose sports court, picnic shelter, additional walking trails and playground equipment. The goal is for McCullough to become a destination park with features that Tulsans from all over the city will enjoy.
The public meeting will consist of a presentation of the plan, followed by a question-and-answer session, and opportunities for adults to fill out surveys and kids to participate in a “My Dream Park” activity. Refreshments of coffee, tea, water and sweet bakery items will be served.
Those who cannot attend the meeting may see some of the proposed park improvement ideas by visiting the design website at www.lpci.com . The public survey is accessible through this website. The survey runs through the end of March.
