This morning, Mayor G.T. Bynum presented Tulsa Blue certificates to two City of Tulsa employees during a special recognition ceremony at City Hall.
Together, Chad Stall, Engineering Graphics Coordinator; and Matt Parsell, IT GIS Coordinator, and their teams developed the new and improved Engineering Atlas tool for City employees.
The Engineering Atlas combines information and data from various city departments and plots it on a virtual map.
“Access to data through new technology has never been easier at the City of Tulsa. This updated program makes it much easier for our employees to solve problems and provide services to the citizens of Tulsa daily,” Mayor G.T. Bynum said.
The new system is more user-friendly and allows employees to customize their searches according to the specific task at hand.
“Employees can use the Atlas to look up core visual items like mapping for city utilities, water, storm, and sewer infrastructure,” said Matt Liechti, Public Works Planning & Coordination Manager. “It has an overlay option that can show current and past capital improvement funding packages, historical aerials, traffic counts, long-range planning, even check pavement conditions – all at once.”
