Today, Mayor Nichols announced two remaining staff additions to the Mayor’s Office, including Dr. Jabraan Pasha as Senior Advisor of Community Health and Brentom Todd as Deputy Chief of Staff. Nichols also announced that Dana Walton, who was already serving on his team, will now serve as his Chief of Staff.
The two additions round out the Mayor’s staff and will play a vital role in improving outcomes and hitting the key goals of the Administration. Nichols is allowed 16 mayoral appointments to help carry out his priorities for Tulsa along with City employees. With the two final staff additions, Nichols will have 11 staff appointments.
“These final additions to our team represent some of the very best minds in Tulsa, and I couldn’t be prouder of the important work they are going to be taking on to improve the lives of everyone in our city,” Mayor Nichols said. “With Dana’s new role and with the additions of Dr. Pasha, and Brentom, my Administration can ensure effective management on core projects and focuses, while helping the City achieve equality of opportunity in everything we do.”
Dr. Jabraan Pasha, Senior Advisor – Community Health
Dr. Pasha is a dedicated public health professional and will have a direct focus on improving the lives of children, youth, and families in Tulsa. Starting March 17, Pasha will join the City of Tulsa with a focus on fostering cross-sector relations with community health partners and ensuring long-term success of City strategies and focuses on health equity.
“I want to thank Mayor Nichols for his belief in not only me, but in health equity and how the City can be a major player in improving outcomes moving forward,” Pasha said. “Having the ability to address Tulsa’s most challenging health issues from the Mayor’s Office is a fundamental shift in how we address health outcomes in Tulsa.”
Dr. Jabraan Pasha is an internal medicine physician, educator, and community health advocate, dedicated to the promotion of health equity. A Tulsa native and graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Dr. Pasha received his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Kansas, and his internal medicine residency training at Mayo Clinic Arizona. He formerly served as assistant dean of student affairs and associate professor of medicine at the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine.
Most recently, Pasha oversaw the opening of Juno Medical in Greenwood, as medical director and national vice president of health equity. He has experience as a healthcare consultant, serving clients both locally and nationally. With expertise in social drivers of health and health equity, Dr. Pasha has delivered more than 250 keynotes, training sessions and workshops nationally and internationally.
Service is a passion of Dr. Pasha’s, having led the Tulsa chapter of the American Heart Association as President for four years, with current involvement with many nonprofits, including President of the Telligen Community Initiative, and board member for Growing Together, Tulsa CARES, Eden Village and the Black Wall Street Chamber of Commerce. Pasha is also a 2022 Aspen Institute Healthy Communities Fellow.
Dr. Pasha’s community health work and leadership has been recognized widely. Including, by the American College of Physicians in 2023, when he was awarded the W. Lester Henry Award for Health Equity.
Dana Walton, Chief of Staff
Initially brought on as Deputy Chief of Staff during a transitional period, Walton has proved invaluable to the organization since the Mayor took office. As Chief of Staff, Walton will serve as the Mayor’s chief advisor on key priorities and issues and will continue to contribute greatly to the success of the Administration moving forward.
“I’m honored to have been selected as the Chief of Staff and I’m eager to continue the work we’ve started here at the City of Tulsa,” Walton said. “As we move the needle on key priorities and community needs, I’m reminded of the incredible team we have here at the City and in the Mayor’s Office to meet these challenges and opportunities head on.”
Brentom Todd, Deputy Chief of Staff
Beginning April 1, Brentom Todd will join the City of Tulsa from Atento Capital. Todd will take on the role of Deputy Chief of Staff, tasked with special projects and serving as a key advisor to the Mayor on several matters.
“I want to thank Mayor Nichols for his trust in bringing me on, and I am excited to join the team that will be responsible for doing the everyday work to make Tulsa the best city in America,” Todd said. “I look forward to leading and collaborating on key projects that will move Tulsa forward, and I’m honored to serve the residents of my hometown.”
Todd is a community leader, advocate, and vision cultivator with more than a decade of leadership experience across various organizations, specializing in community engagement, strategic development, and entrepreneurial growth.
A Tulsa native, Todd graduated from the University of Tulsa where he studied Business Management with a specialization in Entrepreneurship and Family-Owned Business and was a student-athlete on TU’s football team.
His leadership journey includes key roles in the global expansion of Transformation Church and, most recently, serving as Community Outreach Manager at Atento Capital, where he worked to bridge the gap between Atento’s portfolio companies and Tulsa’s community while connecting local entrepreneurs with resources to support their upward mobility. Beyond his professional roles, Brentom is deeply involved in civic leadership. He has served on the Kirkpatrick Heights Greenwood Master Plan Advisory Committee, is a board member for Alzheimer’s Diversity Outreach Services, and serves as Vice President of his North Tulsa neighborhood association.
