District 3 Tulsa City Councilor David Patrick served the citizens of Tulsa for nine terms with the Tulsa City Council. Patrick was the current Tulsa City Council Chair and served on the Tulsa Authority for the Recovery of Energy (TARE) board. He was a strong advocate for Tulsa City Council District 3 and loved his family and community. Councilor Patrick was always willing to help his fellow Tulsans and enjoyed work most when constituents would stop by personally to talk with him about issues in his district.
Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum, Tulsa City Council Vice-Chair Phil Lakin and the Tulsa City Council offer their deepest condolences to the Patrick Family and will miss their dear friend, David Patrick.
“David Patrick was a good man and a loyal friend. He was loved and admired at every level of the City government. His love for his family was reflected in his service to Tulsa. David’s common sense made him a success in all his entrepreneurial endeavors and helped him resolve so many conflicts at the City. I am thankful for the chance I had to learn from him over a decade working together and am heartbroken he won’t have the long retirement with Dannette that he had earned,” Mayor G.T. Bynum said.
“David was more than a good councilor; he was an especially good person and friend. He loved serving this City, his hometown and worked hard to represent the needs and interests of those in District 3. If you ever saw Dave, or got to work with him in any capacity, you know he had a knack of wearing unique ties and shoes to prove that he still had class and style. Most of all, David was wise. While many Councilors would sit around the committee table trying to solve issues in complex ways, inevitably it would be David who, at the very end of the meeting, would raise his hand and offer up a perfect, simple, efficient solution that best met the needs of all parties. More times than not, we would walk away thinking, “geez, I really wish I would have thought of that.” Councilor Patrick’s contributions to our City and our Council will be everlasting, and his manners, ethics, and values will continue to impact the Council and residents of Tulsa,” District 8 City Councilor Phil Lakin said.
“Councilor Patrick was a dear, kind friend. You could always count on his quick knowledge of city government at meetings. He always knew how things worked and how things were done. I’m going to miss his sweet smiling face and his greeting on the floor of, “hey girl!” District 5 City Councilor Karen Gilbert said.
“Councilor Patrick was a dear friend and a truly great Tulsan. He was a compassionate leader with a consistently great sense of humor. He will be deeply missed,” District 9 City Councilor Ben Kimbro said.
