Joe Creek Trail Closure Beginning March 7

Joe Creek Trail will be closed beginning March 7, 2016 for trail reconstruction.

Joe Creek Trail is currently a gravel trail, but after reconstruction it will be a fully functional asphalt trail. The asphalt trail will be along the west side of Joe Creek, which will be 10-feet wide. Two grades will also separate street crossings under the Riverside Parkway Bridges and the 71^st Street Bridges.

Construction is expected to be complete in six months. Signs will be placed along the trail regarding the closure.

The estimated cost for trail improvements is $2,070,400. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation will provide $600,000 through the Transportation Enhancement Program and the City of Tulsa will provide the remaining funds from the 2006 Third Penny, Fix Our Streets and Improve Our Tulsa funding.
