A Household Pollutant Disposal Special Event is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, March 24-25, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the City of Tulsa’s Household Pollutant Collection Facility, 4502 S. Galveston Ave. In addition to the usually accepted items (listed below), special items accepted only at this event are tires, e-waste (tube TV - $21 fee; monitor - $10 fee), medications and ammunition. No appointment is necessary for the special event.

Residents with only the usually accepted items can avoid long lines at the special event and make an appointment to bring them on another Saturday or a Wednesday. For more information about household pollutant disposal in Tulsa is available online

The special disposal event is open to residents of Tulsa, Bixby, Broken Arrow, Claremore, Collinsville, Coweta, Glenpool, Jenks, Owasso, Sand Springs and unincorporated Tulsa County. Fees may apply for non-Tulsa residents bringing more than 60 pounds. Participants who bring in a mercury thermostat will receive a $10 Lowe’s gift card courtesy of Covanta, operator of Tulsa’s trash-to-energy plant.

The Swap Shop at the Household Pollutant Collection Facility also will be open during the special event. Customers may take up to five items for free – no drop-off required.

Customers also may pick up rain barrels they have ordered through two vendors that have partnered with the City of Tulsa: Upcycle Products and Rainwater Solutions. A limited number of barrels may be available for purchase at the event.
