Eagle OPS Foundation, a member of the Mayor’s Veteran Advisory Council will honor fallen service members with an Honor Bridge at the 2018 DAV 5K. The DAV 5K will take place at 9 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 3 at Guthrie Green, 111 E. Mathew B. Brady St.
The DAV 5K is an annual event to thank those who have served and raise awareness of the issues that ill and injured veterans face every day. Williams also serves as the Eagle OPS Honor Bridge event sponsor.
“Our veterans have faithfully defended our country and our freedom and many of them even paid the ultimate sacrifice,” Mayor G.T. Bynum said. “I encourage Tulsans to participate in this great 5K to honor our veterans who are all our heroes. We are grateful for their dedicated service to our country to ensure our freedom.”
Eagle OPS will honor 200 fallen service members with a powerful and moving memorial. Honor signs featuring photos of fallen service members will line the length of Boulder Bridge. Tulsans who would like to honor someone must sign-up online before the race at:
http://www.eagleops.org/honorbridge on a first come, first-served basis. Participants may then pick up the sign honoring their nominee after the race at the Eagle OPS Rally Point Tent. All entries must be submitted by Monday, Oct. 1.
Tulsans may register for the run at: https://support.dav.org/event/day-5k-tulsa/e188239 as individuals or teams. Tulsans may also join Team Eagle OPS, the largest DAV 5K team in the nation at: https://eagleops.org/dav5k-registration/. The deadline to turn in your entry is Monday, Oct. 15.
