Animal shelters are crucial in caring for pets and providing them with a safe and loving environment. According to the ASPCA, every year, over 4 million unwanted animals are rehomed by shelters across the country. National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week, which takes place from November 5-11, is a great time to show appreciation for your local shelter’s efforts.

At the same time, it’s a chance to recognize the dedicated people who work tirelessly to support the shelters daily. The employees of Tulsa Animal Welfare are committed to not only finding new homes for homeless pets but also rescuing and rehabilitating injured and abused animals and reuniting lost pets with their owners. Their efforts serve the community by saving animals every single day.

Throughout the week, on their Facebook page, Tulsa Animal Welfare will highlight an employee who works to improve the lives of homeless dogs and cats in the City of Tulsa. We encourage you to follow their Facebook page, @TulsaAnimalWelfare, and show your support for these dedicated employees.

On November 8, Tulsa City Councilors will honor the efforts of the Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter with a proclamation reading at 3:30 p.m. at the Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter, 3031 N. Erie, Tulsa, OK 74115. Media are invited to attend the presentation.
