City Hall, Municipal Court, other Facilities to Close Dec. 24-25, Jan. 1 for Christmas, New Year’s Holidays; Trash Pickup Schedule to be Affected
(Tulsa, OK) – City Hall, Municipal Court, and other City facilities will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24, and Wednesday, Dec. 25, for the Christmas holiday, and Wednesday, Jan. 1 for the New Year's holiday.
While Municipal Court will be open 8-5 p.m. on Dec. 26 and Jan. 2, its extended Night Court hours will not be available on these dates. Residents needing to take care of Court business outside regular business hours can visit www.cityoftulsa.org/Court to confirm whether a citation qualifies for Night Court and to schedule an appointment.
Despite these holiday closures, public safety and mission-critical functions will operate as normal. Residents who need assistance with a water or sewer problem may call the following 24-hour emergency numbers: water - (918) 596-9488, and sewer - (918) 586-6999.
Because trash will not be collected on Christmas Day (Dec. 25) or New Year's Day (Jan. 1), the collection schedule for the weeks of Christmas and New Year's will change. Wednesday’s collection will move to Thursday, with each day's collection for the rest of the week moving forward one day, ending with Friday's collection being moved to Saturday.
Customers with twice-a-week refuse service also will be affected, as their collection days will move forward one day. Monday/Thursday customers will be collected on Monday and Friday, Wednesday/Saturday customers will be collected on Thursday and Saturday and Tuesday/Friday customers will be collected on Tuesday and Saturday.
The Household Pollutant Collection Facility at 4502 S. Galveston Ave. will be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. On the days in between and after these closures, the facility will be open for regularly scheduled hours on Wednesday and Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and noon to 4:30 p.m.
The City's mulch site at 2100 N. 145th East Ave. will also be closed Dec. 24-26, and Jan. 1.  On the days in between and after these closures, the mulch site will operate on its regular schedule: Sunday through Tuesday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed on Wednesday and open again Thursday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
City of Tulsa Animal Services (TAS) at 3031 N. Erie Ave. will be closed Dec. 24, Dec. 25, and Jan. 1, but will be open on Dec. 26. On the days in between and after these closures, TAS will operate on its regular schedule: open daily, 2 to 6 p.m.
Oxley Nature Center's interpretive building will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1. The trails, however, will be open during Mohawk Park hours: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Redbud Valley Nature Preserve remains closed.
All other Tulsa Parks community centers will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1. Mohawk Park and Page Belcher golf courses will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, but open on Dec. 26. The Tulsa Zoo will be closed on Dec. 25, but open Dec. 26 and Jan. 1.
MetroLink Tulsa will not provide bus service on Dec. 25 (Christmas Day) or Jan. 1 (New Year's Day). Regular service will run as scheduled on Dec. 24, however, the attendant desks at Midtown Memorial Station and Denver Avenue Station will be closed. On the days following the holidays, MetroLink Tulsa will provide its regular schedule of service.
