City of Tulsa Services Update – March 17

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) threat, the following City services have updated their protocols and are taking necessary steps to help avoid the spread of COVID-19. Please continue to check www.cityoftulsa.org for updates and e-service capabilities.

Municipal Courts

City of Tulsa Municipal Courts is closing for 30 days beginning March 18. Court dates will be rescheduled and new court dates will be set 30 days after your original court date. For example, if your court date is March 20, your new court date will be April 20. If your new date falls on a weekend, your court date will be scheduled for the next business day. Emergency cases will be seen on an as needed basis. Tulsa Parks and Recreation

Tulsa Parks has closed all community and specialty centers and cancelled all public programming and rentals until further notice.

Outdoor parks and green spaces are still open to the public during regular park hours, but, we encourage residents to do their part to keep themselves and other residents safe and healthy.

Refunds will be given for all programming and rentals that have been cancelled, and Parks community center staff will follow up with all customers about the refund process. 

Animal Welfare

• No more than 10 visitors at a time will be allowed in Tulsa Animal Welfare. The Animal Welfare waiting area has also been moved to the outer lobby to avoid congestion in the main part of the building. Visitors are requested to sign in at the outer lobby window.

• Individuals are urged to not pick up stray animals unless they are willing to there is shelter in place, including housing and caring for and feeding the animal. 

• Animals may be brought to the shelter if in medical distress.

• When bringing animals to the shelter, please utilize the north driveway. We are asking that citizen stay in their vehicle and staff will come out to assist.

• The Shelter Diversion program is available to provide personalized options and assistance if needed. Before surrendering your animal or a stray, please reach out to our Pet Diversion & Helpline Coordinator at 918-596-7387.

• Staff is following health tips and frequently cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and objects hourly. 

• Animal control services will continue high priority and emergency calls including law enforcement assistance, assisting fire or EMS, injured or sick stray animals, cruelty and neglect complaints, bite complaints as well as dangerous and aggressive dog complaints.
