City of Tulsa Responding to Tornado Damage in North Tulsa

The City of Tulsa is currently responding to a tornado that touched down in north Tulsa this evening. Tulsa's Emergency Operation Center is activated.

Roads are closed from 46th St. North from Peoria to Martin Luther King. Tulsa Police and Tulsa Fire are canvassing an area from 49th Street North and Tisdale to 49th Street and Xanthus and 43rd Street North and Tisdale to 43rd Street North and Xanthus.

The City's Streets and Water Department are assisting with road barricades and debris removal. Trees are down in the areas listed above and crews are reporting damages to structures and homes.

Citizens are asked to stay away from the area as public safety departments respond and electrical lines are down.

EMSA has reported nine patients have been transported to local hospitals. Most calls have resulted in serious injuries and there is one critical patient.
