February 19, 2019 - The Mayor’s Office of Economic Development announced the City of Tulsa has published a new Guide to Doing Business in Tulsa, available in both English and Spanish. The guide is the result of efforts by the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development and the Economic Development Commission (EDC) to provide additional resources to existing and potential new businesses.

From 2010-2015, more than 27 percent of Tulsa’s population growth can be attributed to immigrants. Chief of Economic Development Kian Kamas said immigrant populations are highly entrepreneurial and want to do business in the Tulsa community. Economic Development and the New Tulsans initiative are working with inhouse-staff to ensure the inclusion of immigrant business owners in business programs, and to increase their awareness of local resources available that may aid their potential success. In addition to the publication of the Spanish-version of the Guide to Doing Business in Tulsa, Economic Development staff are in the process of conducting an immigrant business survey, which will be used to inform additional policy and resources in the future.
