City Hall, Facilities to Close Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day; Trash Collection Schedule Changing for Most Customers

City Hall and other City facilities will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019, for the New Year’s holiday. Public safety and mission critical operations, however, will operate as normal. Residents who need assistance with a water or sewer problem may call the following 24-hour emergency numbers: water – (918) 596-9488, and sewer – (918) 586-6999.

Trash and recycling service will not operate on Jan. 1, 2019 – New Year’s Day. Trash will be collected as usual on Monday, Dec. 31. For the rest of that week, collection will move forward one day. Tuesday customers will be collected on Wednesday; Wednesday customers will be collected on Thursday; Thursday customers will be collected on Friday, and Friday customers will be collected on Saturday. For twice-a-week collection, Monday/Thursday customers will be serviced on their regularly scheduled days, Tuesday/Friday customers will be collected on Wednesday/Friday, and Wednesday/Saturday customers will be collected on Thursday/Saturday.

The City’s mulch site at 2100 N. 145th East Ave. will be closed Dec. 27, and Jan. 1, 2019. On Jan. 2, it will resume its usual schedule of 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week, excluding City holidays.

The City of Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter, 3031 N. Erie Ave., will be closed Jan. 1, 2019. The shelter will resume normal hours on Jan. 2 – noon to 6 p.m. weekdays, noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, and closed Sunday.

Oxley Nature Center’s visitor center will be closed Jan. 1, 2019, but the trails will be open. All of Redbud Valley Nature Preserve will be closed on Jan. 1.

Tulsa Parks community centers will be closed Jan. 1, 2019. Mohawk Park and Page Belcher golf courses also will be closed Jan. 1. The Tulsa Zoo will be open on Jan. 1.

Gilcrease Museum will be closed Dec. 31, but will be open on Jan. 1, 2019. Tulsa Garden Center is closed through Jan. 1, 2019, and will reopen on Jan. 2.

Tulsa Performing Arts Center administrative offices and theaters will be closed Jan. 1, 2019. Ticket sales are available 24 hours a day through www.tulsapac.com

Tulsa Transit will provide regular bus service on Dec. 31. Tulsa Transit will not provide bus service on Jan. 1, 2019.
