Tulsa utility customers will be receiving their annual water quality report with their utility bills in June. The water quality report also is posted online. The report can be read online in many languages; website visitors can click the "Select Language" drop-down menu and choose a language.

The 2024 Water Quality Report shows that the City's water system continues to deliver high quality, good-tasting water that is safe to drink and free of bacteria and other harmful substances.

"Not only do we want to meet safe drinking water regulations, but we also want to provide the best tasting water for Tulsa," said Eric Lee, Water and Sewer Director. "Our City employees do an incredible job of operating and maintaining our water system that contributes to the health, economic prosperity and enhanced quality of life for all of us."

The annual water quality report is required to be mailed to all water customers under the provisions of the federal 1996 Safe Drinking Water Act and its amendments. The City samples and analyzes its treated drinking water throughout the year to make sure it meets or exceeds federal standards. The report concluded that tests conducted on treated water during 2023 showed that the levels of all contaminants continued to fall below the regulatory levels prescribed by the Environmental Protection Agency.

The Water Quality Report is also provided to municipal water systems that purchase water from Tulsa. Anyone who does not receive a copy and wishes to see one can request it from the City of Tulsa's Customer Care Center by calling 311, or (918) 596-7777 (from outside the city limits).

The City of Tulsa Water and Sewer Department operates two water treatment plants that receive their water from lakes Oologah, Spavinaw, Eucha and Hudson. Water samples from these lakes are also analyzed to determine source water quality.

Water and sewer operations and policies are overseen by a public trust organization created by City charter, the Tulsa Metropolitan Utility Authority (TMUA). In addition to the water quality results, the 2024 Water Quality Report also provides information about TMUA and its meeting schedule. Online information about TMUA is available online.
