Tulsa can be the safest big city in America. I am incredibly grateful for the men and women who serve our city in the police and fire departments, and I know that we can deliver on the promise of safety for all citizens. As we continue strengthening relationships, creating a more accountable government, and ensuring neighborhoods are places where residents can thrive – we will work to rid our streets of the most violent, repeat criminals among us. But chief among our public safety priorities will be investment in the communities where opportunities seem few and far between.
To help us bridge the gap between the Mayor’s Office and the day-to-day operations of our public safety departments, I have hired former Major Laurel Roberts to serve as the City’s Commissioner of Public Safety.
