The Department of Resilience and Equity is charged with implementing a broad range of strategies to support resilience, equity, and inclusion to achieve the City of Tulsa’s mission to build a foundation for economic prosperity, improved health, and enhanced quality of life for all Tulsans.
Resilience and Equity has six functional areas in which our work is organized:
Four resilience pillars provide the framework and vision for these functional areas: 1) creating an inclusive future that honors all Tulsans, 2) equipping all Tulsans to overcome barriers and thrive; 3) advancing economic opportunity for all Tulsans; 4) and transforming city and regional system to improve outcomes. The department implements its strategies through partnership-building, programmatic services, program integrations, strategic coordination, and civic engagement.
MORE also oversees the complaint and investigation process for Tulsans who experience discrimination in housing, employment, or public accommodations. In addition, the department works in partnership with six commissions who represent and advocate for women, Latinos, African Americans, Asians Americans, Native Americans, and human rights in Tulsa. In her capacity as Chief Resilience Officer leading the Department of Resilience and Equity,
