City contract crews continue to remove overhanging or unstable branches, limbs, or trees in the right of way or public spaces following the June 18 storm. More than 45,000 hanging branches in the public rights-of-way, over sidewalks, and in Parks have been identified for removal. Currently, 14,191 have been removed.
Mayor Bynum delivered his State of the City address in Downtown Tulsa to more than 1,000 people as part of the Tulsa Regional Chamber Luncheon. During his speech, Mayor Bynum highlighted the many economic development and quality of life successes from this past year and announced new initiatives planned to further make Tulsa a globally competitive, world-class city by creating a safe community and creating opportunity for all.
To provide more accessibility and convenience for those with municipal citations, Tulsa Municipal Court will start Thursday Night Court starting September 7, 2023. During Thursday Night Court, Tulsa Municipal Court hours will extend its hours until 7 p.m. to accommodate individuals with obligations during regular court hours who may find it challenging to appear for their citations.
City Hall, Municipal Court, and other City facilities will be closed Friday, July 4, 2025 for Independence Day.
The City of Tulsa Equipment Management Division was named the No. 1 fleet among the Leading Fleets at the Government Fleet Expo and Conference (GFX) in San Diego, California. The City of Tulsa operation was chosen the overall No. 1 fleet for demonstrating leadership with staff, customers and within the community; staying efficient and competitive; overcoming challenges; and having a vision and direction for the operation.

Construction of a new bridge over Crow Creek at 3200 S. Peoria Ave. is complete and the road has reopened to traffic. Mayor G.T. Bynum and District 9 City Councilor Jayme Fowler celebrated the bridge opening at a news conference Monday morning.
Mayor G. T. Bynum and the Mass Graves Investigation Public Oversight Committee will hold its first public meeting on Thursday, June 27, 5:30 p.m. at the 36th Street Event Center, 1125 E. 36th St. N., to discuss plans to begin the investigative process into the potential mass graves search from the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. The first meeting was originally scheduled in May but had to be rescheduled due to severe weather in Tulsa.
Work zones play a key role in maintaining and upgrading our city streets, as well as state and interstate highways. Unfortunately, daily changes in traffic patterns, narrowed rights-of-way, and other construction activities often create a combination of factors resulting in crashes, injuries, and fatalities. The key message for Work Zone Awareness Week is that drivers must use extra caution in work zones to keep themselves and others safe. In short: Drive like you work here.
