Today, the Secret Service asked the City to lift the curfew order this weekend. In compliance with this request, the City has rescinded the order.

When winter weather strikes, we're ready. We have 12,500 tons of salt, 170 employees, 66 truck-mounted salt spreaders, 45 truck-mounted snow plows, four trick-mounted Liquid Applicator Systems, seven 4x4 pick-ups equipped with snow plows, three motor graders for use as plows, and two salt brine mixing systems - all to treat 35 snow routes covering 1,770 lane miles.

Public Oversight Meeting for 1921 Mass Graves Investigation Rescheduled for June 27

Mayor G. T. Bynum and the Mass Graves Investigation Public Oversight Committee will hold its first public meeting on Thursday, June 27, 5:30 p.m. at the 36th Street Event Center, 1125 E. 36th St. N., to discuss plans to begin the investigative process into the potential mass graves search from the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. The first meeting was originally scheduled in May but had to be rescheduled due to severe weather in Tulsa.

City, TEDC Partner to Create Greenwood Entrepreneurship Incubator @ Moton; Tulsa City Council to Vote on Budget Amendment June 2

Today, the City of Tulsa, Tulsa Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) and Tulsa Development Authority (TDA) announced plans to provide $4 million to support the Greenwood Entrepreneurship Incubator @ Moton (GEIM), a new entrepreneurship hub in North Tulsa. The Tulsa City Council is expected to vote on the budget amendment authorizing the expenditure at its regular meeting at 5 p.m. on June 2, 2021.

Co-Researchers Selected to Advance Outreach and Policy Assessment for Community Policing in Tulsa

CNA, a nationally-accredited 21st century policing firm, has named the four co-researchers to help facilitate their plan to advance community policing within the Tulsa Police Department. Working with the firm’s project team, co-researchers will dedicate at least 10-15 hours a month to the project, participate in virtual meetings, identify community stakeholders for feedback, give input and help conduct focus groups and interviews with community members. The final recommendation and evaluation will be completed in the Fall of 2021.
