The City of Tulsa has historically taken strides to provide open-record information to the citizens of Tulsa. Over the last several years, the City's website has received the highest A+ rating from the Sunshine Review organization for government transparency. In May 2013, the Tulsa City Council and Mayor of Tulsa adopted the Open and Accessible Data Resolution, with direction to provide more data online and work toward a higher level of transparency.
The goal of our Open Tulsa initiative is to take the existing work towards transparency to the next level. We will provide more information and data for public review, which is a broad movement nationwide. Through Tulsa’s Data Governance Policy, any data that is classified as Public is moved to the new Open Data Portal. A Data Governance Committee oversees the policy and is Chaired by the Data Analytics Manager within the Office of Performance, Strategy, and Innovation.
