Welcome to Tulsa Animal Services (TAS), a dedicated department within the City of Tulsa committed to the welfare of companion animals. Each year, we handle over 11,000 animals, including strays, surrendered pets, and those who have faced abuse or neglect.
Our Mission and Services
Tulsa Animal Services is tasked with a range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring animal welfare in our community. Our key activities include:
- Investigating animal-inflicted injuries
- Examining impounded animals for rabies
- Enforcing leash laws and other relevant ordinances
- Capturing and impounding stray animals
- Promoting animal adoption and humane solutions for unwanted strays
- Issuing dog and cat licenses as mandated by law
- Addressing complaints regarding animal cruelty, vicious animals, and nuisance behavior
We utilize a holistic approach that focuses on:
- Enforcement of local animal ordinances
- Community Outreach through education and volunteer initiatives
- Advocacy to protect and promote animal welfare
Our Purpose
As a government-operated shelter, Tulsa Animal Services provides vital services to all citizens. We care for surrendered animals, handle strays and quarantined animals, and assist with cases requiring legal intervention. Additionally, we welcome animals surrendered by owners who can no longer provide care.
