Retirement is generally something we put into the back of our mind, thinking that it is an issue that will eventually take care of itself. However, retirement is probably one of the most important issues we will confront in our lifetime. It is a process that starts with our first job and continues to be refined throughout our career.
Retirement services must have a 60- 90 days’ notice of your retirement. This notice may be given by sending an email to retirement@cityoftulsa.org.

“Understanding Your Retirement” Seminar
This all-day seminar is hosted by Retirement Services from the Human Resources Department with several outside companies also participating. Topics will include “The City of Tulsa Deferred Compensation Plan (457 (b)Plan,”) the Municipal Employees’ Retirement Plan (MERP,) Social Security, Medicare, and Estate Planning.
Seminars are being offered virtually or in person for participants on all available class dates. In-person seminars will be held at City Hall, 10th floor, North Conference Room from 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Please register through your department registrar. If you want to attend virtually please be sure to let your registrar know to select the virtual class option and be prepared to attend by having a camera and microphone available on your device that you will be using. If you are with an entity that does not have a registrar, please contact retirement services at retirement@cityoftulsa.org.
