About Tulsa Recovery and Reinvestment
The passage of the $790 billion American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act provides an unprecedented avenue to obtain funding
to provide new and expanded programs, street reconstruction and
maintenance, water and sewer improvements, and in the process
create jobs for Tulsans.
We are working hard to ensure Tulsa receives substantial and
direct benefits from grant funds available through the Act. Along
with this tremendous opportunity comes a great deal of
responsibility.
These
web pages are designed to report our City's process and the
progress on our funding appropriations to the public, to answer
your questions as they arise and give you the opportunity to let us
know what you think. On these pages, we will provide updates on the
rapidly changing processes for grant applications, awards and
projects, timelines and status of expenditures. We will add new
information to this website whenever it is available.
Our goal is to strive for a high degree of transparency, so
Tulsans know how the money is coming in, how it is being spent and
how it will benefit Tulsans.
In addition, a member of the City's team has been appointed to
watch over Recovery Act applications, process, expenditures and
reporting, so we can achieve the highest degree of accountability
and transparency with our citizens. Cathy Criswell, Chief Risk
Officer for the City of Tulsa's, will lead the ARRA Coordinating
Council. Ms. Criswell is a Certified Internal Auditor and Certified
Public Accountant.
Through the Recovery Act, there are formula grants which are
allocated to cities based on certain criteria, however, cities must
still apply for those grants. Secondly, we can compete with other
entities for grants. Our team is in place to help ensure our city
receives a share of those benefits as well.
The appropriations for the various formula grants available
through the ARRA are being announced. Each grant has its own
timeline and each federal agency has its own set of criteria. New
information on grants is being delivered by the federal and state
agencies weekly. We will use this site to link to resources, to
other government websites and keep Tulsans up to date.
