Greetings,
Tulsa will get a jump on celebrating Arbor Day this week with a special celebration on Friday afternoon at Kendall-Whittier Park. For the 16th year in a row, Tulsa has been named a “Tree City USA.”
This special holiday reminds us again of the importance of our tree canopy. Each day we can still see the disastrous results of the Ice Storm of December 2007. We are moving toward our goal of 20,000 by 2010 with the help of our partner, Up With Trees.
The spring planting season ends April 30. Over the coming month, please take the opportunity to plant a tree, and then register your tree on the ReGreen website. Donations to assist with tree purchases can still be made to the Tulsa Community Foundation, noting ReGreen Tulsa in the subject line.
Visit our website, www.ReGreenTulsa.org, for information about the types of trees you should plant, and the proper planting and continued care of a tree.
Thank you for helping us ReGreen Tulsa.
Sincerely,
Kathy Taylor
Mayor

Taxiway Ramp Earns
Excellent Pavement Award
A recently constructed taxiway ramp at Tulsa International Airport has received recognition from the Oklahoma/Arkansas Chapter of the American Concrete Pavement Association as a silver winner in the Commercial Airports category of Excellent Concrete Pavement.
The Tulsa Airports Improvement Trust accepted the award today, along with the construction manager PSA Dewberry and contractor TTK Construction. A $1.2 million grant from the Federal Aviation Administration provided most of the funding for the project. Construction of the ramp at taxiway began in October 2007 and was completed last month.
