Greetings:
At the City of Tulsa we recently experienced major disappointment in the acts of a few former employees who have been indicted for fraud. I want the citizens of Tulsa to know that I am proud of our employees who serve the community with honor and integrity. Every day, they prove they are part of a dedicated workforce - from our workers who endure long shifts to clear our streets of ice and snow, to those who work in water in sub-freezing temperatures to repair broken water mains, to our management team members who spent many hours working with me take identify actions to take to earn the respect and trust of our citizens.
I am using our website to keep the public up to date on corrective and decisive actions we are taking at the City with respect to improving our processes and procedures, and ensuring we continue to enhance the controls currently in place to protect the public funds. We will work to better inform the public in a clear way of the source and use of City funds. Please send me your suggestions for ways we can better keep you informed.
Sincerely
Kathy Taylor
Mayor
Tulsa's Green Fleet
Hits the Streets
Tulsa’s environmentally friendly vehicles are now easily identified by bumper stickers and logos that announce them as members of the City of Tulsa’s Green Fleet.
Taylor announced the brand last Friday at a morning news conference held at RiverWest Festival Park. Four City vehicles were on hand, including the newest addition to the fleet, a CNG Trash truck. Other vehicles included two CNG Honda Civics and a Ford Escape Hybrid.

February is Family
Month at the PAC
The Tulsa Performing Arts Center hosts a range of events this month that are tailor-made for families. Fairy tales abound with Cinderella and Hansel and Gretel, and more family fare can be enjoyed with a number of musical programs geared for children, including The Wizard of Oz.
Come-from-behind stories that end in triumph are always in fashion. Add a sprinkling of sweet romance and a fairy-dusting of humor, and enchantment blossoms. Tulsa Ballet’s Cinderella is perfect for families, dance fans or for someone’s favorite Valentine. Tickets for the Feb. 6 – 8 performances are $20 – $70.
Clark Theatre Presents
"The Sound of Music"
The heart-warming Rogers and Hammerstein musical “The Sound of Music” will make its first appearance on the Clark Theatre stage, opening February 6.
One of the all-time favorite American musicals, “The Sound of Music,” tells the story of Maria, who comes to work as a governess for the Von Trapp family. Initially suspicious of yet another governess, Maria finally wins over both the children, and their widowed father. The musical, featuring songs such as, “My Favorite Things,” “Climb Every Mountain” and of course the title song, “The Sound of Music,” is the ultimate feel-good story, and will continue to be a favorite due to its message of hope, harmony, and happiness.

Tulsa Animal Welfare Offers
Free Dog Training Seminars
The City of Tulsa Animal Welfare Center is partnering with certified dog trainers from Pooches dog care facility in Tulsa to offer a series of seminars to help people establish and maintain healthy, rewarding relationships with their pets. The seminars are part of “It’s Hip to Snip” Month in Tulsa, which is celebrated every February.
